World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and PvE Damage.
If the template for upgrading a weapon ends in %, it will be able to gain 3% of its previous attack damage every time it is upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with item's level.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons, and trinkets to provide a stat bonus or extra impact while they're being used. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment that has a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue level before the component can be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component that is used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment, as well as some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade can have a prefix or suffix changing the name of the item to the upgrade (for examplethe 'Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to make stronger versions of the equipment using the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than are required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.
A 'boost upgrade' can modify the attack or defense attributes of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them in the cash shop, or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.
The player is able to have a maximum of five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will drop during the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear even when they're not sure how much it can be improved upon an update.
The process of upgrading an item can be costly, and it is possible that the item will be obsolete or even break in the event that the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also offer a bonus if reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, which includes any existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as you can to level 15.
You'll often see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is a great method to upgrade your gear. These are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded up to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.
Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions are the most commonly used. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.
Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs, you will have to put them on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus that boosts the stats of a specific set of nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. Based on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Utilizing a Glyph can boost all nodes connected to it, and you should aim to place your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximize the impact. For example an Druid should try to position their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes but also think about placing them near crucial damage nodes too.
Leveling
The item upgrade system allows players to boost the effectiveness of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum level of 385. Each item level requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or bought from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to level the item. Once enough points have been earned, the upgrade can be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When the player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced by a new item of the same type. The same armor will be upgraded to a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item will also come with a bonus of its own. This could be a problem, as it can cause the item to become more expensive if you do not need it.
The upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough tokens to do so. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, with an initial level and a different set of extra bonuses. This is a good idea but it shouldn't be done often as it could waste resources.
item upgrading can increase their value and allow players to personalize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives buffs when the player repeatedly enters or leaves the water. It can be upgraded multiple times, each time raising the max roll by 10 points. This item can be very valuable in PvP as an item that is properly rolled it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its value without being upgraded.
Requirements
The ability to upgrade item s allows players to increase the quality of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by providing the appropriate items and currency to an item upgrader NPC. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapon items will increase the damage base and the strength and dexterity required to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.
Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear which can be upgraded up to eight times. Each time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it has a chance of failing. The probability of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures can result in the item reverting to its initial state, requiring the player to spend more materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.
If an item is not upgraded the experience bar on the bar for growth will be reset to zero. In addition the item will lose any bonuses it gained, including crit chance and attack damage, as well as all additional effects associated with that effect (for example, increased heal over time or speed of reload). However, the user can continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon gains an increase in crit chance it will be applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the item's definition and the value is calculated every time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is dependent on its rarity score and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to its base value. For instance an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades for a price of. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items will have the lowest cost for each additional upgrade.
Premium items have different upgrade requirements in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they might require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. However, players will have to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each equipment upgrade requires a different amount of the ingredients needed to upgrade.
